Aadhaar has become a critical identity for all Indians as it has been linked to PAN Card, EPF, Banks, Mobile Phone and much more. Just imagine the mess if you come to know that your Aadhaar Number has suddenly been deactivated!
In an answer to question in Rajya Sabha Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology PP Chaudhary has stated that “Till date, approximately 81 lakh Aadhaar numbers have been deactivated”. In case you want to check if you are not the impacted one, it can be done easily on UADAI website. The service is called ‘Verify Aadhaar Number’, enables service providers and holders of Aadhaar number to verify if their “Aadhaar number is valid and is not deactivated”.
Verify Aadhaar Number
Step 1: Go to the ‘Verify Aadhaar Number ‘ link on the UIDAI website.
Step 2: Enter Aadhaar Number you want to check along with the security code

Step 3: The next page displays if the Aadhaar is still valid or has been deactivated or wrong number has been entered! For active/valid aadhaar it also displays some basic information like Age Band, gender, State and last 3 digit of linked mobile number.
