What is Ajinomoto or MSG?

If you are Chinese food lover you might have heard about Ajinomoto or MSD. Its not considered healthy and doctors recommend to avoid it during pregnancy.

I spotted the below advertisement from AJI-NO-MOTO in a leading daily and realized that AJI-NO-MOTO is the registered trademark owned by Japanese company, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. The company manufactures MSG (Monosodium Glutamate), which is a kind of amino acid used in seasoning to make food more delicious.

The AJI-NO-MOTO has become so popular in India that most of us consider MSG equivalent to Ajinomoto.
